For those of you who saw me upload 14 entire artworks within a span that is way too short, those pieces were made before I decided to share them onto Newgrounds. I didn't make them all on the fly, dw!

Anyway, yeah I decided to start sharing an MSM class I've been working on in Newgrounds' Art Portal! The Hybrids is a Wublin-style fanmade MSM class that is basically Pokemon Fusions but Fan-MSM, I hope you guys like it!

In terms of what you can do with the art, don't look at the Licensing Terms for each of them cos I have no idea how to change that, you absolutely can use the Hybrids I made as long as you provide some credit. If you wanna make your own Hybrids, no credit or anything is needed. Again, it's literally pokemon fusions but MSM so I'm not just gonna yoink the whole concept like a greedy goblin. Go nuts with no worries.

I wanted to make v2.8.1 a few days after v2.8 came out, but there was wayyyy too much important stuff in my way which led to this “quick” hotfix update being held back, much to my annoyance.

This hotfix adds more things to the massive refinement pile of v2.8, along with fixing bugs & oversights I missed and changing certain features in preparation for v2.9.

MENU CHANGES

- Clyde Swap is now disabled when using the Atari Game Style or Punky’s Revenge Gamemode, since Clyde or his replacements are not present.

- Cutscenes are disabled in the Atari and Pac-Mania Game Styles since they do not have cutscenes.

- Removed the exclamation marks from settings that disable certain others, will work out a better way to notify people of why certain settings are disabled in v2.9.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

- Punky has been given some adjustments.

- Readjusted ghost speeds in the Mania Game Style. Everything is basically down a level. (Blinky and Punky are now fast, Pinky and Sue are Medium, Inky, Clyde and Funky are Slow and Spunky is Very slow.

SOUND CHANGES

- Fruits now have a different spawn sound in Atari Fruit Chase

- Extend Sounds are now tied to characters.

- Gave the car a super dot sound.

- Taizo Hori now plays his theme when getting dots.

- If the Dug Naissance music is chosen with Taizo Hori, the music will be quieter when Taizo isn’t getting Dots.

- Mappy now has a new dot eating sound.

- The Wafer Dot Shape now affects Super Dots

FORGOT TO NOTE IN v2.8

Pressing F will now show the frames per second on the bottom right.

Due to many issues with the patch notes being stored in the Notes & Credits (Mainly character limit and clunky reading) I will try to find another method of storing them.

FIXES

- Fixed some dot shape and Pac-Man’s Park related issues.

- Fixed Power Pellets not blinking if the Dot Shape is Wafers.

- The Exclamation mark removal also fixed the erroneous exclamation marks being on the Randomiser, even though it didn’t randomise the Dot Shapes anymore.

- Fixed Power Pellets sometimes showing up in intermissions.

- The additional Invisible Eat Sounds should be able to play now.

- Added a new way to trigger an easter egg after the old method was removed in the Credits rework.

- Fixed the “Ready” and “Player One” text not appearing properly.’

- Fixed Pac-Man not jumping properly when he isn’t moving.

Pac-Man Scratched v2.8 is out! This update mostly contains polishing for most of the existing content in the game, but I did include new feature in there. I hope you enjoy!

QUICK RUNDOWN

- Three new playable characters from Rally X, Dig Dug and Mappy respectively.

- Speed is no longer impacted by FPS.

- Added the remaining cutscenes for Jr. Pac-Man.

- Moved all credits to a section in the ingame menu.

- Changes to Punky’s Revenge

- Infinite Lives

- Invisible Dot Shape

- Separated Dot Shape Randomisation from the Randomiser.

- Random Carousel Rework

- Better Infinite Life handling in Editor

- Rework made to Atari-style sprites.

- QoL improvements

- Bug fixes

JR PAC-MAN CUTSCENE UPDATE

The second and third cutscenes from Jr. Pac-Man have been added!

Remastered versions only include reskins for now, but enhancements are yet to come.

THREE NEW CHARACTERS

Added three new playable characters, I hope you enjoy playing as them.

- The Car from New Rally-X.

- Taizo Hori, the main character in Dig Dug!

- Mappy from Mappy!

NEW SETTINGS

- Infinite Lives!

You can now set Lives to be infinite, which is helpful for inexperienced player to enjoy the game or simply for praciticing certain parts of the game. Using this option disables Extend Threshold, since there is no point in increasing infinity by one.

- Random Music

Music can now be set to “Random” which randomises the music per level.

- Dot Shape

Dot Shapes are no longer randomised by the Randomiser Maze, but instead through their own Random setting. This means that the Randomiser Maze doesn’t override this setting anymore.

For Pac-Maniacs, Dot Shape can also be set to Invisible, I hope memory serves you well.

MENU CHANGES

- Added a new type of setting called Infoboxes. They are distinguished through a different font, appear below the usual game settings and rather than changing the game in some way, they are purely for containing useful information about Pac-Man Scratched.

- The Credits have been moved to it’s own section in the settings. This includes the bottom right text and the full credits from project descriptions. This gives me an easier time managing everything.

- Added a new sound for scrolling through the menu, taken from DasScheit’s Pac-Man remake. (Not sure where the original sound came from though)

- Changed the Mazes description and Maze Workshop’s preview to better indicate where the Maze Editor is.

- The Lives description has similarly been changed to tell the player how to exit out of a game, which is useful if they set the lives to Infinite.

- Reworked random setting carousel. Not only does it work better, it now works for other things such as Random Chaos.

- Rewrote Offset Bug’s description to be more clearer plus fix some typos. (The latter was the primary intention, but I did the former bc why not :D

EDITOR CHANGES

Reworked how lives are handled in the Editor.

- When you start playing a maze, your lives are finite, but they will be set to infinite when opening up the editor, even when going back to playtesting.

- This allows lives to keep their finite nature when playing other people’s mazes, but when using the Editor, they will be kept infinite to prevent too many unfortunate mishaps from kicking you back to the menu with your progress being lost.

- “But Event, can’t they just open and close the editor to get infinite lives and cheese my maze?” They can also set it to infinite in the settings. >:)

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

- More changes have been made to Punky, but I was threatened with my game being flooded with AtBelch’s propaganda if I listed them.

- Fully reworked Ghost movement again.

- Finally found a good solution to the FPS-related issues plaguing the game’s speed for way too long!

- Removed the blue from the Tods (Atari Ghosts), Atari Pac-Man and Atari-style Miru.

- If the lives are set to Infinite through the Settings or the Editor, the lives bar now has the infinity symbol next to a single life icon to indicate this.

- The Invisible character now has a life icon so that isn’t invisible anymore.

- More sounds have been added to the Invisible character’s arsenal of eat sounds.

- Each ghost now has a different speed value in the Mania Game Style.

Very Fast: Blinky, Punky

Fast: Pinky, Sue

Normal: Inky, Clyde, Funky

Slow: Spunky

- Remaining dots no longer disappear when Pac-Man eats the fruit in Fruit Chase.

(This was done to fix a bug that impacted the Editor.)

This change generally makes the game style a bit harder, but Spunky getting a speed nerf should make her easier to deal with.

BUGS FIXED

- Punky had some bugs, so they were fixed.

- Tim’s eyes are kept black when eaten.

- As stated in Gameplay changes, the FPS issues impacting the game’s speed has been fixed.

- Fixed the Mania Ghost Siren being so ear grinding.

- Fixed the Atari Game Over screen not looking right.

- Fixed options still being darkened when opting out of gamemodes that override these settings.

- Fixed Cornering not working when moving SW.

- Removed Herobrine

PATCHES FROM OTHER VERSIONS

It was only the Scratch version that got these changes, but now the NG version has them too!

v2.7.3

ADDED THE FIRST CUTSCENE FOR JR PAC-MAN!

Looks like they will be released episodically, with remastered versions actually being remade later.

Fixed weird fruit behaviour in the Maze Workshop. (MPM Game Style)

Now it works under a different system that should replicate the original behaviour well. :D

Fixed wrong colours showing up in Mania Mashup.

v2.7.4

Removed three stray dots in the top right corner of Junior Jumble 2, which made the maze impossible to beat.

2.7.2/2.7.1

Bug fixes, Movement optimizations and some new parts in the Maze Editor!

Moving Pac-Man is now much better than before! :D (Reworked the entire movement system to make it so Pac-Man doesn’t wait until a full tile to turn.)

Added elements from that one Tengen maze into the Maze Editor.

(V2.7.1)

Changed the "Paste maze code here" text in the Maze Workshop to demonstrate how to create a new project.

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS!

This is not the fool you’re looking for, I have other plans in mind. :)

BAD NEWS FIRST

I’m sorry mobile Scratchers, but unfortunately, I’ll be removing the buggy and janky mobile controls. They interfered with the Maze Editor too much

I suppose it’s time to unveil my greatest work yet…

THE MAZE EDITOR IS BACK!!!

The Maze Editor has returned as the MAZE WORKSHOP! And it's found in the Maze setting.

Fun fact: A Maze editor has been in Pac-Man Scratched since the very beginning, which is how I managed to recreate all of the mazes you love :D

I should also mention the differences from the old, separate, bad Maze Editor project too.

  • NO MORE LAG! - The Maze Editor has now been optimised to no longer run at 5 FPS.
  • Actually useful guides - Now there’s actual hotbars and such showing you what you can do.
  • Different way to export - Instead of remixing the project, you now just Press “T” and show off your maze to others! This process is much easier.
  • Infinite Lives! - This should help when editing mazes (So Game-Overs don’t ruin everything) or if you’re trying to beat someone’s near-impossible Maze. Remember, you can go back to the menu by clicking the Green Flag.

NEW MUSIC!

  • Outward - Pac-Land Music is here!
  • Toc Man’s Lair - Fitting for a showdown with Punky! (Or for a very hard challenge.)

CHANGES

  • Clyde now moves randomly if you move too close to him in the Mania Game Style.
  • Removing that one frame delay between glide blocks making everything slower than intended was proving to be very tedious, so unfortunately it’s staying in >:[

INTERNAL CHANGES

  • Reworked how Mazes are loaded by integrating them into the decompiler used for importing Custom Mazes.
  • Properly implemented the new jumping algorithms for Pac-Man.
  • I’ve also changed the code for other stuff in general.

I hope you enjoy the creative freedom you now have >:)

v2.6.1-2

Fixed speed to not be as off anymore.

.1

Fixed bottom HUD not showing.

Added a version # to the thumbnail.

v2.6

MENU OVERHAUL!

The whole menu now looks much better, with new features such as:

Dots that let you see which option you’ve chosen.

Menu Music! (Jakub Koter - Exluna)

Floating Logo

Fading “Press Space” button

Pac-Man and Ghosts in the preview are back!

New Preset: Pac-Man Plus

CHANGES

The UI is now back to using Clones, not only is it more versatile, but it’s now HD again when playing in Vanilla Scratch.

All characters now take a consistent 0.6s pause when eating a ghost rather than waiting for the sound to end.

If Miru and/or Sue are above the Ghost House, Blinky will now be on the left rather than Miru/Sue.

Miru and Punky’s AIs have been completely redone! Now they are much more complex, leading to them being a tad more unpredictable.

Atari Miru’s sprites have been redone.

A level counter has been added to the Atari Game Style.

Invisible character can now become more characters on defeat.

The Invisible Character had no eat sounds, but now it has a wide variety of funny sounds.

BUG FIXES

Eating two ghosts at the same time had no pause.

Fixed a collision bug when Punky hits Pac-Man while dashing.

You could go over the maze in Atari Alleyways.

PLAY PAC-MAN SCRATCHED HERE: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/905625

Just fixing some bugs and changing other stuff.

CHANGES:

Qol:

Choosing the Randomiser Maze and Random Chaos Gamemodes will now darken the options that are overridden by the randomisation. (And will be highlighted to mark this)

Randomiser Maze:

End and Start Songs are now randomised.

Pac-Mania Game Style:

Spunky and Funky can no longer jump in Mania Mashup’s Block Town and Pac-Man’s Park.

(They still jump if Pac-Man’s park is selected on it’s own.)

BUG FIXES

Fixed the Cutscenes setting not working properly.

An easter egg is now easier to access.

Ready/Game Over text is now positioned correctly in Sandbox Land

Pac-Man Plus Fixes:

Fixed maze staying invisible if Pac-Man dies while the maze is invisible.

When the fruit was eaten, the ghost that wasn’t frightened by the last Power Pellet wouldn’t be frightened by the fruit. This has been fixed.

NG VERSION:

Last update, I accidentally left the Green Flag, Pause Button and Full screen enabled in the packager, but I’ll leave them there lol.

Added the Stop button

Pac-Man Scratched got it's first update on Newgrounds. Here's a bunch of new content.

(Update number matches the Scratch version btw.)

IN-DEV FEATURE UPDATES:

Added the Ms. Pac-Man Intermissions.

Jr. Pac-Man cutscenes will be coming eventually.

NEW GAME STYLE: Pac-Man Plus

Midway’s conversion pack is now available as a game style in Pac-Man Scratched!

Please give feedback on how I can make this game style better with other options/more accurate to the original.

TWO NEW CHARACTERS:

INVISIBLE - Want a new challenge? You can now hide yourself from yourself. It won’t fool the ghosts though.

RANDOM - Randomises every character per level.

BUGS FIXED:

Reworked Punky’s jump system to prevent him from targetting walls.

Punky can no longer attack Funky while he is frightened or defeated.

BUGS STILL HERE:

Input Delay, sorry.

NEW EASTER EGGS:

One is hidden somewhere in the title screen. Give it a few clicks.

A certain character is actually multiple in disguise.
